Milano experiments more and more frequently the heterogeneous compresence of various ethnic groups; people with diverse lifestyles, nationalities, religions, customs, needs and cultures find themselves in a close proximity, sharing the same daily lives and balancing emotions and conflicts. From the suburbs to the barycenter, public spaces like courtyards, squares and parks, have gone back to their original purpose of being meeting and sharing places, where the notion of a new urban identity has been shaping. The project shows people from Milano, both natives and “Milanesi” by adoption, within city’s public spaces that today are the arena for citizenship practices: the spontaneity and the naturalness of their gestures, behaviors, gazes, reactions, during events and ordinary days, waiting times and celebrations.
